Biomimicry architectural design is a forward-thinking
concept that has been implemented worldwide and is emerging in the US. The Bullitt Center in Seattle is a recent
example that is very conscious of the carbon dioxide footprint, general waste,
and electrical usage yet it’s a green building with a posh look.
From the rudimentary concept of
biomimicry, ancient tribes would select favorable locations along the riverbank
that they can rely upon the nutrients and water from the source instead of at
risk of being flooded out. To the sophisticated
Feng Shui geomancy principle of Yin and Yang, The Tai Chi, the Five elements,
the Eight Trigrams, and further expansions into the 64 Trigrams. These complex systems bring forth harmony of natural
elements in relation to the land. Based on that concept within classical Feng
Shui, it further propelled into the astral realm that a person’s lunar birthday
has certain energetic imprints in one’s abode and how specific placement can influence
positivity. Also, how planetary astrological
may influenced one’s dwelling based on their yearly celestial positions.
In Asia, biomimicry and Feng Shui may
fused beautifully not only the building is certified per international green
construction code, it is build based on Feng Shui principle that may yield
desirable results that resonant with the nature.
It excites me that we are seeing biomimicry
architectural design been introduced in the States. I hope the governing architectural board may consider
standardizing biomimicry protocols which is innate with the ancient art of Feng
Shui. It is a win-win situation.
I agree, Ben! So exciting to see biomimicry in the US and I love the points you raised about how it's not a new concept, siting Feng Shui as evidence. How cool it would be to see policy implement this healing techniques!
ReplyDeleteglad you are on board, hoping to see this manifestation soon :)
